I’ve always been drawn to stories about strong women.
The Women of Stour may have started as one story but as I wrote it a whole world grew up around a female only boarding house – Stour – and the series unfolded before me. The more I thought about Stour House, The Stables, Gilbert House School and Roseton the more characters and their stories appeared.
The Women of Stour is about women making their own way in the world. While they’re at Stour many of the women are at a crossroad in their lives. These are their tales.
The stories start with the free prequel novella Love and Deception but the books can be read in any order.

Love and Deception

In this free prequel novella, Bea, a young Victorian woman falls in love with a man who adores her – but he won’t consummate their marriage.
Bea goes on an emotional journey as she lives, loves and finally learns the truth, hiding it from the one closest to her heart, as she and her husband travel to a tiny place in the country called Stour…

However Phoebe and Evie have never been particularly close.
